World Water Council chairman Benedito Braga (in red tie) presented the Council's flag to the president of the organising committee of the 9th World Water Forum, Abdoulaye Sene (in white hat), at the closing ceremony of the 8th World Water Forum in Brasilia last month.The 9th Forum will take place in Dakar, Senegal in 2021. The key announcement at the forum was the launch of the UN High Level Panel on Water's final report, Making Every Drop Count. It makes three specific proposals: to strengthen the data on water use and availability through the HLPW World Water, and to make a commitment to integrated water management at the local, national and transboundary levels.
